Residents of Fort Myers homes can take pride in the fact that our community ranks among the top 50 of metropolitan areas in the nation based on factors that include quality 0f life, affordability and career opportunities.

The annual study makes use of data compiled from the U.S. Census Bureau, the Bureau of Labor Statistics as well as surveys with area residents. Findings are used to produce a ranking system for the top 125 communities.  Fort Myers has previously figured in the U.S. News study and was ranked among the Top 70 last year. This year, however, Fort Myers leaped over some 30 cities to be ranked #41 nationally, outscoring Florida communities such as Daytona Beach, Jacksonville, Lakeland, Orlando and Tampa.
